Manti Pageant

Rob and I went down to the Manti Pageant Saturday night w/ our friends Kenny and his fiance Krista.  We have so much fun w/ them and are so happy that Kenny found a super cute girl that we love to have around!  I've been to the pageant before, many years ago, and it was raining, so I don't remember much from it.  This time was better though.  It was good.  The temple is beautiful and it was fun to be there and watch the beautiful stories!

Also, an update on our little garden.  It's coming along fabulously.  We have 3 cute little tomatoes growing,  here's one
and one little pepper, when this one grows up it will turn yellow, yummy!  I'm so excited to eat these little guys, but it will be kind of sad because I've been helping them grow.  

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Dad!  I love my dad so so much!  Yesterday we had stake conference, and our stake president did a tribute to all father's and I just cried through it all as I was thinking of my dad.  I really want to get a copy of it.  My dad is such a good man and I'm so blessed to have him as a dad.  Him and my mom are tripping in Oregon/Washington/Canada right now, so we weren't able to see him, but they are having fun.  My dad always expected a lot of us, but I'm so glad because he's a big hand in how we've turned out.  My favorite is that he would always tease us that he was excited for when we would get married and leave, but now he gets so excited when any of us come home.  I'm glad to know he really does like us kids. :)

We've been having fun!

We really have been having fun the last few weeks.  Just haven't gotten that many pictures.  Last weekend I went shopping w/ my sister-in-law and her kids.  I was entertaining Tytan while she was getting some shopping done for herself and we made it to the toy section in Kohls where Tytan found some train books.  He loves trains!  Next week we're going to the Zoo, so I'll have pictures from that.

This weekend we were over at my parent's and Rob was saying he needed to get a haircut and my mom offered to do it.  Rob is extremely particular about his hair, and I was laughing so hard because he couldn't say no to his mother-in-law.  My mom of course did a good job and Rob was happy with it, but he was a little bit nervous. 
We also put a little garden in.  Our little place had a sandbox at one time, but we laid some topsoil over it and got some tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, and jalepenos planted.  I got some basil too (I totally love fresh basil!), but we ran out of room, so it's on a pot on our patio.   Rob did great planting our garden.  He's such a good little farmer.
I got a fun little wand to water my plants with.  I'm really excited to get our garden going.  We just LOVE tomato sandwiches in the summer!  My mouth is watering just thinking of it.
We also decided we were big enough to handle a car payment (and the jeep was becoming more temperamental) so after months of doing research on which car would be best for us, we decided on the Hyundai Tucson.  A shout out goes to Murdock Hyundai of Logan for getting us a great deal and helping us get through this monumental purchase. :)  If you're looking for a car, go see Bruce there and tell them we sent you.  He seriously was awesome!  So here it is, the exact car we got.  We're big kids now!

Prince Caspian

Rob and I went to a midnight showing of Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian last night.  It was fantastic!  I'm trying to convince him to go to a matinee today.  Peter is quite good looking and it was quite action packed!  I give it 5 stars!  Truly, it didn't seem like it was 2 1/2 hours long!  Go see it!

And the winner is...

Well, I know that you all have been in suspense as to where we will be next year, so here it is.  Look familiar to anyone?  Rob has accepted a position at Box Elder Middle School.

Now let me explain, #1, anyone who grew up w/ Rob knows that he vowed this would NEVER happen, but it did.  #2, Rob will be teaching Earth science, even though he graduated in Chemistry.  #3, Rob NEVER wanted to teach at a middle school, but now he is.  So as to how this happened, I can't really tell you other than this is where he felt good for this year.  

There are benefits to this sudden change of plans, #1, I keep my job that I really do love, #2 we get to stick it to the man after spending 2 1/2 years of forking out at least $100/wk in gas, Rob gets to WALK to work, which is like 4 min away (we timed it). #3 We get to save up some serious dough so that we can buy everything we ever wanted! (ok, not everything, but we can always dream, we aren't on a student budget anymore!) 

There really are some good benefits to being here this year and we're glad that we get to stay by family as well.  So there you go, you know where we can be found for a year.

Yeah!  The day finally came!  Rob's graduated now!  I'm so incredibly proud of him!  After 6 years and 3 different schools, he finished!  I'm so excited and know that he'll be such a fantastic teacher!  Way to go Honey!  You ARE the best thing I've got going! :)

After graduation and lunch/dinner at Maddox, we were able to get some tickets to the Jazz game.  We had a fantastic time and the Jazz even pulled of a great win to put them to the next round of the playoffs.

After the game Rob wanted to stay and watch them interview someone, so luckily it was Matt Harpring, who was my favorite until Korver came, but he's still a favorite.  He's just a good looking clean cut guy.  Korver is more of the playful looking type. :)  But it's ok, my true love is my Rob!

Rob's Gift to Himself

Rob has been righteously coveting a tool set at Home Depot for a little over a year now.  We stop by quite often just so that he can check it out and make sure they're still around.  Every time we stop he continues to convince me that this will be a good purchase for him and all he could do for not only himself, but for me as well...if he only had this tool set.  Well that day has finally come!

Rob has been saving his money to buy this for his graduation, and was so excited to finally get it!  He rushed home from work to open it and show me all it came with.
Apparently "Ridgid" is better b/c they have a lifetime warranty, which I was happy about. Here he is with his sawzall.
This is his regular drill, with the handle on it, he can use this to hang shelves for me.
And this is what he really loves about it, an impact drill.  Apparently, it kind of hammers as it drills so it goes in nice and quick.  So here's to the summer of electrician work to put those tools to good use.

My Little Institute Grad

Yeah!  I have pictures!  Since my last post I have been making more of an effort to take my camera w/ me.  So here are the latest!  

First of all, I would like to introduce you all to my little Institute Graduate!  Last night Rob graduated from the Ogden Institute of Religion.  I'm so proud of him, don't mind that it was like 100 degrees in the building and my hair is as limp as spaghetti, but I'm so proud of him!  This week is his week for sure!  He's graduating on Friday (more pictures to come, promise!) I can't believe the time is finally here!

So today Rob had his last seminar for school and last night we stayed up late putting his binder together.  I went to Ogden w/ him b/c I had a doctor's appointment and we wanted to save on gas...unfortunately that didn't happen b/c when we got to school Rob realized he'd totally forgot his portfolio at home, so I dashed back home to get it and only ended up being 15 minutes late to my appointment.  No harm done, they got me in the second I walked in, maybe I should try that more often. :)  

Rob and I went out for lunch to "celebrate" this being his last week of school.  If you know Rob, you know he can find any reason to celebrate and go out to eat, he's been counting down the days til Friday, not just because of graduation, but because of Maddox, and he IS getting dessert!  Here's my happy little graduate after lunch. 
Rob is also obsessed w/ trains, ok, not obsessed, but he really likes them.  So this weekend he wanted to go down to frontrunner, but we didn't end up having time.  But today we did drive down to the transit station and check them out.  I think we'll definitely be hitting it up this weekend.  Has anyone tried it out?  How was it?

No Pictures

My post have kind of been few and far in between lately, I just feel like it's more enjoyable to post w/ pictures.  Sorry.  Because of this lack of photography on my part lately, I haven't posted.  So I'll just update on what I've been doing.  Mostly working.  Rob goes back to UPS on Monday, so we've been trying to live it up as much as we can, which consists of going on walks in the evening, now that it's finally warming up.  We've also been playing a little tennis here and there.  Another thing I've been doing is burning CD's onto our computer.  The other day Rob and I realized that our CD's were stolen.  NOT HAPPY!  The thing is, they were in our car, and no we don't lock it all the time (nuts) but we don't listen to our CD's a ton b/c we haven't been driving long distances lately, so we don't even know when or where they were stolen.  So I've been burning a lot of my sister's CD's so we can have music.  On a lighter note, Thursday we went to Maddox w/ the fam b/c my little sister Mackenzie was leaving the next day for BYU-Idaho.  I was able to take Kenz up on Friday and help her get settled.  We spent the day running errands and getting stuff she would need. My parents and Rob came to meet us that night and Rob and I turned around and came home.  We left at 11:00pm, and I was spent, so I slept the whole time while Rob entertained himself the whole way home.  I vaguely remember waking up a couple times and heard him singing at the top of his lungs w/ the windows open to keep himself awake. He does this often on our late drives home, I'm experienced enough to know to bring a blanket so I can sleep and stay warm. Hee, Hee!  He's a good husband!  Then today we went to the high school and did some sprints for my run today.  I don't think I've sprinted for like years.  I'm pretty sore....and, that's all.  Sorry no pictures!

Happy 26th Rob

April 2 was Rob's 26th Birthday.  He kind of had a rough time w/ accepting that he's 26, but at the end of the day he felt like he could handle it.   I'm so glad!  :)  This year I decided to throw him a surprise party w/ our families.  He's never had a surprise party before, and I tried so hard to keep it a secret.  I thought he would suspect something, b/c I almost got caught a few times, but he didn't have a clue!  I was so excited and he was so surprised!

A couple weeks before his birthday, Rob and I were at the store and happened to stop and look at the cakes and said that neither of us ever had a cake made at a bakery for our birthday when we were little, and how we remembered those ones were always the coolest, so I decided to get him one of those too.  I actually didn't know he never had a surprise party until that night. :)
And here he is, my 26 year old birthday boy!  I love him so much and am so proud of him and all that he's accomplished!  He's the love of my life and he makes me laugh everyday!  I'm so grateful for him!
Hope you had a good birthday Hon!  I love you!  (It's nothing short of pure love that at this moment I'm sitting on the couch with him watching a BASKETBALL game and cheering for Kansas to win so that he can win the Petersen March Madness tourney and get his name on the plaque at my grandpa's house!  Oh well, the things we do for LOVE)

Catching up...

Wow, these last few weeks of March have been crazy!  First of all, we have a new nephew.  Korver Jim Riley came into this world on March 12.  He so tiny, but has really big hands and long toes.  He's such a cutie, and he's been so good!

When we got to the hospital Korver was getting his first bath.  They really scrubbed him good, and then they put him under the heating lamps.

Last weekend we took my sister Mackenzie up to BYU-Idaho so Rob could give her a tour of the campus and so that she could find her classes and where she would be living.  I can't believe she's moving away until next December!  Of course she'll be home to visit once in a while, but I still can't believe she's that old!  I personally didn't like it much, mostly because the wind was blowing so hard and it was frigid!  I was totally wearing my gaucho pants the day before in Utah!

On our way home, we stopped in Garland for some egg coloring!  Kristen had gotten the kids these aprons from downeast and some had other people's names on them.  It was so funny because Keaton's had the name "George" on it, and knowing Keaton, he would be the one to have a funny name like that on his, so we called him George the rest of the day!  Here he is, but you can't see his name.

I'm also wearing an apron, mine didn't have a name, but it's for like 8 yrs olds, so it's really small and only covered my shirt.  Anyhow, I'm really particular about my egg coloring (I can be, I don't have kids yet.) and coloring my egg is like a work of art.  Here I am w/ my proud piece this year.  Green w/ Yellow polka dots. 

This is Rob's jeep that he drove in high school.  They repainted it and have fixed it up for his little brother to start driving when it warms up...who knows when that will be?

Rob's family does the egg hunt on Saturday, so we headed up there that morning for the annual egg hunt.  All the kids were really excited!

And Gracie found my masterpiece!  I was so excited!  It didn't last long however, it was dropped and cracked and so...I ate it.
We finished up there by having a hot dog roast at the property.  We had s'mores too.  It was good, and I just want it to be warm so that we can have more! 

We had a great weekend.  We went to my mom's for easter dinner, but just kind of relaxed and so sorry, but no pictures of that.  Rob's birthday is on Wednesday April 2, so hopefully I'll have some good ones from his big day!
