My Lover Boy

How did you meet your LoVe ? Answer all the questions HONESTLY . . . .
1. Where did you meet? At my cousin's wife's mother's house...get that?

2. What was the first thought that went through your head when you met? "Oh...He looks like a basketball player"  If you know anything about me, it's that basketball isn't my favorite sport. My dad is a wrestling coach, so naturally, I totally wanted to marry a wrestler.  So that thought didn't get him points in my book.

3. Do you remember what she/he was wearing? Yes, his favorite red hoodie and jeans.

4. Where was the first time you kissed this person? My office at Weber State.  We went to lunch over spring break and I had a feeling that he was going to do it when we walked back to my office and I was so hoping that he wouldn't do it there.  He did it twice b/c he thought he missed me the first time:)  He was so nervous.

5. How did he/she ask you out? Well, the first time he asked me out, he called me and asked if I had plans for the next Saturday night, and if I wanted to go on a date with him.  He would call me every Thursday to ask me out for the following week.  And for a few weeks, I didn't hear from him more than that.  He didn't have a cell phone!  Can you believe!? :)

6. Where did you go for your first date? He came to get me from the Richardson Memorial Tournament that my brother was wrestling in and we went to Salt Lake to meet his mission companion and his wife.  We went to The Pie, then to Gateway to try to find something to do, but his companion's wife didn't want to do anything and we spent like an hour trying to convince her there was plenty of stuff to do.  Needless to say, I was glad when they decided to go home.

7. How long did you know this person before you became a couple? Well...an official couple, I would say about 2 months.  We met Jan. 2 and then on Valentine's he brought me some flowers, a week or two after that, we were together every weekend.

8. Has this person ever proposed to you? Yes! On Saturday conference in October.  He told me that we had to drop some family history stuff off at the Logan temple.  I totally didn't even think that they would be closed (duh!).  He parked outside of the gates in front of the temple and asked if I was going to come w/ him.  I shrugged "sure".  We went up, the doors were locked and so we headed back to the car, mind you, I was starving!  Rob started going towards the fountain and asked if I wanted to make a wish.  He gave me three pennies and I threw them in and started walking back to the car.  I was so hungry!  He called me back and said "Hey, don't I get to make a wish?"  So I said "oh, ok" then he pulled out one band and said "My first wish is that you'll wear this" pulled out the second band "My second wish is that you'll wear this" and pulled out the solitare and said "my third wish is that you'll say 'Yes'"  I was so shocked!  He was so totally smooth.  That doesn't happen when he's nervous!  He did such a good job!

9. Do you and this person have kids together? Not yet, maybe in a year or two...

10. Have you ever broken the law with this person? No

11. When was the first time you realized that you liked this person? On our first date we drove past West HS in SLC and Rob locked the doors.  I asked if he meant to do that and he said "Yeah, this is a scary place in Salt Lake."  I laughed and thought he was a funny kid, and I liked that !

12. Do you get along with any of the ex's of your partner? He doesn't have any, lucky me! :)

13. Do you trust this person? Absolutely.

14. Do you see your partner in your future? Yes.

15. Whats the most expensive thing this person has given you? My Wedding ring, I'm assuming, I don't want to see the price, but I guess he's paid for a bit of my education.  Him and my dad! :)

16. What is one thing he/she does that gets on your nerves. He does things differently than I do, that's the biggest thing.  He also worries about our financial situations a lot more than I do, which drives me nuts sometimes, but I'm always grateful that I have that, rather than someone who doesn't know what he's doing and how much debt he's getting into.

17. What is the thing you do that gets on his/her nerves? I'm late and I forget to run errands for him. :)

18. Where do you see each other in 15 years from now? So much more in love with him everyday of that 15 years.  We'll probably have a few kids and we'll just be loving being part of a community.  Truthfully, I see us like the Taylor's from Friday night lights b/c Rob wants to coach football, except our kids won't be 15 years apart. :)

Things that secretly make me jump inside...

So I've been wanting to post this for a while, but wanted to be sure to get some good things on it.  You see, there are things in life that make me jump inside, but sometimes, it's secret because I can't jump up and down everytime they happen, mostly b/c no one is around when they do, or sometimes, I don't want anyone to know that it makes me excited, but everytime I eat at subway I begin thinking about this list.  Why Subway?  Well let me tell you...
1. I secretly jump inside when I tell my sandwich "artist" that I want "just a little mayo" but they put a lot.  That makes me happy b/c I love mayo on my sandwiches, but I say "just a little" so technically I'm trying to be good, but what can I do about if they are the ones who control the bottle?
2. I secretly jump inside when Aimee or Jalene blog.  Jalene knows this, but Aimee, you are included too.  They don't blog much, and I always look at their blogs for updates, but sadly, it's not often.  Truth is I love to hear what they are doing.  So I secretly jump inside when they, or anyone for that matter blogs.
3. I secretly jump inside when I come home and Rob has done the dishes.  I hate doing the dishes b/c we don't have a dishwasher (I'm not moving anywhere else unless there is one, I tend to somehow overlook that when we look for apartments).  But I love when he does the dishes, which is truthfully more often than not.  Sometimes I feel like a bad wife, but...it makes me jump inside.
4. I secretly jump inside when Rob's brother says that he's making either cinnamon rolls, doughnuts, fresh bread or ice cream on Sundays.  He's a great baker/ice cream maker.  But I have to secretly jump inside b/c I have to appear as though I'm trying to be good...
5. I secretly jump inside when Rob shares ideas w/ me that I've been thinking for years, but he just came up with.  I have to do it in secret b/c if I get to excited he might rethink his idea, with the intent of finding a loophole that would cost him a lot of money or he might find out how crazy and wild his wife used to be (truthfully, you all know that I'm not crazy and wild, but compared to Rob, I was).
6. The last thing I have time to write about that makes me jump inside is...Sharp Hygiene Instruments.  Ok.  This sub consciously made me jump inside I'm sure every time it happened, but it wasn't until this week that it really hit home.

Does anyone else secretly jump inside?

UDA, State Wrestling, and game night.

Whew, we've had a busy week!  This weekend was the Utah Dental Association convention.  I was only able to make it on Friday, which turned out ok.  I went to a semi-interesting continuing education course on cavities and how they are caused and what we can do as hygienists to stop the disease.  The only part that was neat was that Esther Wilkins, the lady who wrote our main textbook for school was teaching the course.  Other than that, it was information that we've learned in school.  Nothing new really.  The part I loved most about the convention was seeing all my classmates!  Some of us were able to go to lunch at Macaroni Grill. (Yummy!)  Melissa with her quick thinking skills got us right in at the bar, a very good tip I'll have to remember in the future! (Sorry this is the only picture I got and the lighting is HORIBBLE!)

Friday night we went to State wrestling down in Orem at UVU (UVSC) to watch my dad's team try for state 2 yrs in a row.  Unfortunately it didn't happen.  They lost by 4.5 pts!  That's a tough one!  I don't have any pictures of it, but it was fun for me b/c it was the first year that Rob was able to come!  He actually enjoyed it!
Then on Saturday my cousin Tagg came to my grandparents for the weekend w/ his "friend" Katie, or Kate...I forget.  So some of us went up to play games with them.  We had a great time playing Cranium.  Eric is trying to act out Ronald Reagan for Tiffany.
Brandon is doing a sensodoodle w/ his eyes closed!  He seriously has the best facial expressions in this game!
We had a great night and it was fun to spend it w/ family.  I'm so thankful for my family and that we are as close as we all are.  I'm so blessed to have their influence and example in my life!  As far as games go, I'm currently obsessed w/ settlers of cattan.  I think it will be my next purchase!

I need a hobby!

Ok, so what do people do when they don't work and don't have kids?  I'm currently working Tuesday-Thursday and every other Friday, and seriously, I don't know what to do with myself when I'm not at work.  I usually find something to do to entertain me for like an hour or two, but then nothing.  I could go shopping.  That would entertain me for hours, but Rob won't be happy, so it's an option, just not daily.  I can only clean my house so much, and everyone else I can think of works!  I need a hobby!  I've thought about reading, which I do like, but I haven't really been able to get into any of the books I've picked out lately.  So every day I don't work, I usually end up roaming around my house trying to find something to do. :)  I feel so pathetic and the sad thing is that it's a beautiful day!  I'm just waiting for Rob to get home so I can get out!
So if anyone would like to entertain me every monday, I'm game.  Does anyone have any ideas?

p.s. update on the cute brown/white shams from the post below...they only come w/ the duvet.  NUTS!

My perdicament

So I've been wanting to redo my bedroom for a while, and found the duvet that I wanted at RC Willey for like $500, just for the duvet! Yikes! Anyhow, that was obviously a no go!  But I kept my eye out and was able to find this little lovely on eBay!

So here's what it looks like on my bed.  I'm debating if I like it more on this side, or if I like it on the other side, which has a lot more green.
But now here is my problem.  I've decided I want a green and brown scheme and I'm currently trying to find some brown euro shams!  But alas, I'm having a problem getting just the shams.  I found these and thing they would go great w/ the green side, which I'm ok with.  But I JUST WANT THE SHAMS!  I'm going to contact customer service to see if I can do that, but does anyone have any ideas as to where else I can look?

Special Olympics

So every year for the last 5 years I've had the amazing opportunity to be a volunteer at the Utah Special Olympics winter games!  I seriously LOVE LOVE LOVE it!  The athletes are so fun!  They have such positive attitudes and just love to cheer each other on!  Here are some of the highlights from this year.  I ran the cross country skiing event this year:
This is Steve, he's so great!  He always says "I Steve, I Fast!"
This is the awards for the 250M event.  Brent, who's on his ski's took first place.  He was great too!  He kept calling me gorgeous and he said I've got great legs! :)

Brent, Mary Dawn, and Mike getting ready for the 1K
These are the distance guys.  Tony, Dave and Patrick.  Patrick had the opportunity to go to Japan for the last world games!  They do the 5 and 3K!
Here we are, Rob, me, Tiff and her friend Eric.  We had so much fun!  There was also SO much SNOW!!! Everything was covered and it just kept snowing.  All day!
Well, another successful year at North Fork Park.  This is seriously one of the most rewarding opportunities I've ever had, and I'm glad to say this is one of our traditions!  These kids are some of the most wonderful people that I would ever want to be around.  They are truly amazing and I'm so glad that I have the chance to be around their special, special spirits!
