A must read!

Oh my fellow Twilight enthusiasts, this is a definite must read.  I must say, it describes the way I feel about the series, enjoyable, yet there is something more I couldn't quite put my finger on until stumbling across this screenplay, just click here.

P.S. I know I haven't posted Christmas, I just haven't gotten around to loading them onto my computer.  But the best news is Rob took me to IKEA for the first time yesterday, Love, sweet love!

Photoshop Elements CS 6

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! We had an awesome one and pictures will be sure to follow soon.  However, Rob surprised me with Photoshop Elements CS6, which I'm not quite sure what that means and I have no clue how to work with it!  I've been trying to look online for tutorials, but some things don't quite make sense w/ my version {or so I assume}.  So my question is, are things really that different from version to version, and if so, where can I find a tutorial that goes w/ mine?  Seriously, I feel like my mother w/ all this technology I have no clue how to run.

Thanksgiving and the Christmas Tree Hunt

Ted, Tagg, Tuck and Amanda enjoying the feast.
Mattias, Ceci and Emma
Rob, Tyson and Uncle Eldon
Then of course we had the Christmas tree hunt.  Tyson came this year.  All the kids went, minus Korver and Riley, so us girls had an easy time at the house just getting soup ready and watching Serendipity!  I love that show!  Rob came back with a winner of a tree.  I seriously love it!  I'm grateful for Rob's family and all the fun traditions that they have.  Even though they make me laugh at times!  I love that they do so much as a family!

Question

So I'm sure I'm a dork, but can someone give me some help on making a blog private?  I'm trying to figure it out.  I'm sure it's in settings, but any help on this would be great.  And Katie Baxter, if you read this and are allowing people to read your blog, I want permission...if it's ok.  Thanks!

Happy Halloween '08

So we've been getting in the fall spirit this year and I thought I'd let you in on what we've been up to. We carved pumpkins with my family for FHE on Monday night.  Tyson tried to balance our pumpkin on his head, it didn't stay on long-notice his arms moving to catch it.
My mom and Big Ted
Last week for Young Women my Mia Maids did cake decorating.  This is the one I decorated for Rob, it's HeMan.  Rob liked it.
And this is our office today {Halloween} We did a super hero theme.  Tyann displayed her Jack-o-lantern belly, I wore my Increadibles outfit from last year because I didn't get to dress up with these guys last year.  So luckily it stretched a bit {a lot} because my belly is definitely growing! Curtis is Mr. Increadible and Tammy was SuperGranny, saggy ya-ya's and all!
Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!

Biggest Loser Drama

So I love biggest loser!  I watch it like every week.  But SERIOUSLY!!!! Heba, Vicky and Brady drive me NUTS!  I mean seriously!  Vicky is only on there for the money.  She doesn't even care to see a video of her kids, that's not enough of a reward for her to make it even through the arch at the challenge.  Come on!  Anyhow, it's not over yet, so I don't know who gets kicked off, but I feel bad for Amy P, poor girl is going home I'm sure, we'll see.  Anyhow I just had to vent...

Welcome Home Elder Petersen!!!!

My little/only brother came home from his mission last Wednesday!  We were so excited to see him!  I was shocked when I saw him walk down the stairs and I just started crying because he was actually there!
Tuesday night Mackenzie and I made a big "Welcome Home Elder Petersen" sign to hang on the garage.

We had been keeping the nudger a secret from Tyson until he came home, s0 this is how we told him.  He was surprised!  I had to have him read it twice because he didn't get it the first time.
This is when he finally got it {sorry it's blurry}
The four of us together again.
We're so glad he's home!  I've had this week off and have been able to help him run a few errands and get settled in.  It's good to have him home and giggle at the silly things he does.  I'm so proud of him and his hard work to serve our Lord.

The Great Debates!

Have you been watching them?  I have a little bit.  I like Palin.  I think she makes some very good points and has some good ideas.  I think she would add a lot for McCain.

I also kind of like Obama.  I think he's new and fresh. I guess we'll just have to see.  I also need to do a lot of reading because I haven't really paid much attention to all of their ideas.  I really feel like I need to make an educated decision this year though {as if I didn't every other year} so I'll be doing my homework!

However, The biggest debate in our house is if we're having a girl or a boy in April...

Surprise!  So this is the reason for my lack of blogging...I just haven't wanted to do anything...but I'm feeling better, most of the time :)

Twilight Update

So in case you've been wondering if I finished the Twilight series, I did, like 2 weeks ago.  I was just glad to be done.  I enjoyed the books, but by the time I got the Breaking Dawn, I just wanted to finish so that I could have my life back again. :) They were good, didn't like the 4th one as much...to much crazy stuff going on.  But I can now say that I'm a twilight reader!

Also, right now I'm watching Oprah, and it's on this family that is hooked on heroine (sp?).  Let me just say, how ridiculously sad!!!!  It's disgusting how that this happens to people.  I'm seriously just disgusted.  Did anyone see this episode?

I love my days off!

Today was my day off, and can I just say how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE my days off.  I love that I have Mondays off.  Most people have to go back to work, but not me.  I get all my errands run while the stores are fairly vacant.  I love grocery shopping on Monday mornings, not many people are at the store, and it seems like stuff is fresh on Monday mornings.  I like being able to have an extra day of the weekend too, it just lets me get prepared for the upcoming week.
Also, for the picture, my brother, Elder Tyson Petersen will be home in 3 weeks!  Holy cow I'm so excited!  He sent this picture home today, he got a little into the Independence Day celebration in Mexico on the 15th.  So excited!

I caved...

So I tried to read this book a few months ago, but I just couldn't get into it.  Well, last week an orthodontist that we refer to invited us to a private screening in Nov, so I figured I better read it before then.  {I hate going to movies made after a book and I haven't read it.}  So I did. Friday night Rob was coaching at the football game, so I figured I'd go watch him, but I stopped and picked the book up before because I'd be sitting alone, and I just read the whole time. I know, I go to the football game and read {Nerd Alert!}.  Anyhow, I finished the book last night.  I must admit, I liked it.  I don't believe I LOVE it yet, it's quite interesting.  So tonight I start New Moon.  Carin I hope you're happy!  You've been wanting me to read these for awhile.

It's almost FALL!

I'm so excited!  Fall is my favorite season and I'm so glad that it's just around the corner.  School started for Rob today, which means that to me, it's officially Fall.  I love crisp mornings when you get to go to a football game.  Or the bright fall colors that are everywhere.  I love pumpkins and all the fun things you can do with them!  I love the food, I love the clothes and that you get to start wearing sweaters and bundling up a bit.  I love apple cider and doughnuts.  I love Halloween and Thanksgiving.  I love that you can enjoy the outdoors.  I love that Rob's family has a big pumpkin patch and that they press fresh apple juice!  I love that we do so much with our family, and this year, I love that my brother comes home from his mission on October 8th!  I love Fall!

Time?

Our life has been so crazy lately!  A post is coming, I just need to find time.  Thanks for all the love on my new hair...sometimes I miss my long hair, but I'm definitely used to the short now.  Anyhow, I've got pictures of Jackson Hole/Yellowstone, my birthday, Rob coaching and more...coming soon, I just need to find the time!  All I want to do is watch the Olympics!

Sorry to keep you waiting!

It's been crazy at our house.  I'm sorry to keep everyone in great suspense as to what I look like now, but here's a picture, sorry I didn't get it up sooner.  We've seriously been gone all last week and then we forgot the camera at Rob's mother's house.  So here I am, sorry I have no makeup! :0

And our garden is doing great-at least the tomatoes are.  This is our first tomato.  We had tomato sandwiches for the first time this summer on Sunday.  We love them!

I'm chopping

Okay, so here's the deal, Rob loves me with long hair, it is for this purpose that I have not cut it more then 1 inch for a long time, well actually, I've had it long since high school, but then I cut it a couple months after we were married, and then never again, because when I got home Rob said.  I..I..I..I like it... Do you like it?  My thought process was; Well hon, with that reaction, how could I not!  Anyhow, needless to say I did regret my decision.  But it grows back right?  And now it is to that length again-it has been for a while- but it's starting to drive me nuts.  So, I've decided to throw Rob's caution into the wind and go for it again.
I love that I can throw it in a ponytail, and I'll still keep it long enough to do so, but maybe not a high ponytail.  I love that I've gotten faster at doing it, I'm down to 50 minutes to get ready. :)  Truthfully it doesn't take me much less time, even if it's shorter.  I've also loved running my flat iron through to do ringlet type things w/ my hair, it takes me like 5 minutes to do my hair when I do it like that.  And I love love love that!  But alas, it's time for a change.  So tomorrow I head to my dear friend April to give me a much needed change.  Wish me luck!

Crazy July!

Wow, these first few weeks in July have been crazy this year.  I have a lot to update, so I hope that I can get through everything.  Here we go...
June 30 my family threw a bridal shower for my cousin's fiance Katie.  She is such a cutie pie and we're so glad that she's part of our family now!  It was a crazy day getting there, and on our way out the door my mom remembered she was supposed to take dinner to someone, so we hurried a and threw something together and then headed off to Bountiful only 45 min late. :) Most of the girls from my family were there and we had a great time at Robintino's.

On the 4th of July I started off the day by running the Freedom 5K in Perry with my sister and the dentist from my office.  Here we are: my sister, Tiff, Dr. Wahlen's wife Hillary, Dr. C. Wahlen, Dr. J. Wahlen and I.

After the race we had a nice big breakfast and rode 4 wheelers in the parade for Wahlen Dentistry.  Here's Tiff and I

As far as fireworks on the 4th of July, Rob and I have differing opinions.  I grew up going to the Brigham fireworks,  so I love love love going to those.  Rob grew up doing their own firework show, so he love love loves going to his mom's for that.  So, we take turns.  :)  This year it was Rob's turn, so we headed up to Garland to meet up with the family.

Rob gets so excited for fireworks!  They do a few crazy things that I tell Rob our kids will NEVER do (like strap fireworks to the scooter and drive it around while it goes off).  We stopped by a tent and decided that we would take the grand finale firework.  Rob is holding the massive thing.  It went off for like 4 whole minutes.

They also strapped a firework to this little tractor, not while I rode it.  This used to be Rob's when he was little and he insisted that I ride it for a while.

Matt had the best seat in the house.
July 5th was my cousin's wedding in Logan.  Tagg and Katie make the cutest couple and the ceremony was beautiful!  Congrats you two!

Between the temple and the reception, some of us cousin's went to Fredrico's pizza for lunch, it was fun to be with family so much that day.

Here are my cute grandparents at the reception.  I love them so much!  They are so great together, they have taught me so much both individually and together.  Love them!

This past week has been a very busy one too.  Rob and I went to Girls camp for one night on Wednesday.  We went up to Bear Lake, but Minetonka caves, but had to leave before they all went to the cave.  Aside from me waking up with a tick on my leg (I was thought I was going to die!), we had a fun time and are so blessed with the opportunity to serve these fantastic Y.W.

When we got back from camp, we took a little nap and went over to my mom's the help get dinner ready for the 1st annual Talbott family reunion.  My mom is from Honduras and is very close with her extended family, however, since they've all grown up, they've moved to different areas of America, and some are still in Honduras.  We've never had a family reunion and last winter, my mom and her sister decided it was time we did.  It was quite a few months in the making and with rising gas prices, it was a little hard for some to make it, but all in all the reunion was a success.  We only had about 20 there, but we had such a great time getting to know each other better.  We had good food and some good laughs, stories and tears.  We've decided we will have one next year in Honduras, which I'm really excited for because I've been wanting to go down there again for a few years.   Friday some of my cousins and us went to Fat Cat's in Ogden to watch iFly, check out the arcade.  Here's Tiff, me and Rob checking out the Flowrider.

We also did the bumper cars and had a blast!

To end our arcade adventure Rob and I went on the Virtual Reality roller coaster.  It was fun for sure, and I was glad I was able to get Rob on any type of roller coaster, but honestly, our chest and back hurt the next day, how sad is that!  I think we're getting old.

So there you have it, we've been quite busy so far this month.
